Family Promise Host Week
We currently have a need for Evening and Overnight Hosts. Please note that training is required and will be provided prior to our host week for those who have not completed a previous training session.
A Note from Mary Strommer our New Hope Family Promise Coordinator:
New Hope is hosting Family Promise the week of June 19th. We will have 3 families joining us and would love to have you join our FP Mission team.
We are in need of volunteers to be evening hosts who will interact with the families in the evening by having dinner with them and fellowship from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. We will have children of all ages this week and we play games, do crafts, etc.
We also need overnight hosts from 8:30pm to 6:00am. This is easy to do and most times the families retire to their rooms for the night. All you have to do is just stay overnight in your own room and bed! There is one drawback, getting up early in the morning to get the families out the door to catch the bus to go back to the FP Day Center.
If you have questions about upcoming training opportunities or how you can support Family Promise contact the church office at (813) 689-4161 or email us TODAY!
Family Promise of Hillsborough County is a nonprofit organization that provides temporary housing and case management to area families experiencing homelessness. Temporary housing and meals are provided through partnerships with area churches.
Charge Conference
New Hope will hold a Charge Conference on June 26 at 3:00 PM via Zoom to address adjustments to Clergy Compensation. All church members can attend but only the members of the Leadership Team can vote.
24/7 Prayer Vigil
The week before our upcoming Baptism Celebration, from May 29 to June 4, we will hold a 24/7 prayer vigil.
We will have at least one person praying for the present and future of New Hope every single hour for a full seven days. We are asking all of you to participate in intentionally praying for our church, our community, our world, and each other.
There are 168 opportunities to lift New Hope in prayer from your home or on campus during the week of May 29 to June 4 - which hour will you choose?
A week of prayer, followed by a day of baptisms - we can’t think of anything better!
Baptism Celebration
Our Baptism Celebration will take place on June 5th as part of our 11am Blended Worship Experience. We will have several pools in the courtyard and will be doing baptisms by immersion or pouring. We invite all those who have never been baptized to literally take the plunge and become baptized. We will have two on-campus info sessions about baptism on May 15 (10:15am) and May 22 (12:15pm) and one virtual session at 7pm on May 25. People of all ages who have never been baptized are strongly encouraged to attend.
In our Methodist tradition, we believe that baptism is a sacrament. That means it is an outward and visible sign of an inward grace. Baptism is an act of God, and when we are baptized, we experience the power of God’s grace in a mighty way and we are initiated into God’s mission and work in the world.
It’s important to mention that in the Methodist church, we do not rebaptize. We believe that God did it right the first time. That being said, we do remember our baptisms. For many of us who were baptized as infants or young children, remembering our baptism can be a very powerful experience. If you would like to remember your baptism on June 5th, you are invited to do so.

Volunteers are needed for Makes Waves VBS
Volunteers must have COMPLETED 7th Grade and will be placed in a group or area appropriate for their experience and gifts.
