New Hope Early Learning -After-School Care Provider (Preschool)
Job Summary: We are seeking a caring and responsible After-School Care Provider for preschool-aged children (ages 2-5). The After-School Care Provider will create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that supports young children’s social, emotional, and physical development during after-school hours from 12:30pm-5:00pm. This position requires patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise and monitor preschool children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
· Create and implement age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and educational exercises, that engage and support children’s growth.
· Encourage positive social interactions and help children build basic social skills, sharing, and cooperation.
· Assist with snacks, maintaining a clean and organized snack area.
· Communicate effectively and warmly with children, maintaining a positive tone and supportive demeanor.
· Collaborate with other staff to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
· Ensure children follow established routines and policies.
· Facilitate rest and quiet activities as needed to provide a balanced after-school experience.
· Manage occasional parent communication regarding pick-up times, child progress, or incident reports.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare or school setting.
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Patience, warmth, and a positive attitude toward working with young children.
· Ability to manage small groups effectively, keeping children engaged and safe.
Hours: Monday through Friday, from 12:30pm-5:00pm, with occasional flexibility if needed.
