The Handshake of Peace - 10/8/2017
This Sunday, October 8, we conclude our sermon series featuring Louie Giglio called "Relat(able): Making Relationships Work." We have focused on our relationship with God – God's abundant grace, who we are in Christ, and that we have a heavenly father who loves us and calls us his own. We have talked about being the kind of friend we long to have, and last week we talked about God's plan in marriage. This week's message is titled "The Handshake of Peace," for we are called to relationships that reflect God's desire for us to be forgiving of others and reconciled to them. Two of our key Scriptures will be Romans 12:18: "If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." And Matthew 6:12-15: "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
