We live this out through four core values: Reach, Connect, Grow, and Send.
REACH – We reach into our community by actively living out our faith and inviting others to join us in Christian community. Reach means we look for ways to share the Good News AND to invite, welcome, receive, and care for those who are strangers so that they find a spiritual home and discover for themselves the unending richness of life in Christ.
CONNECT – Connect means getting involved in small community and building strong spiritual friendships. We encourage every person to be involved in at least one connect group for fellowship and accountability. Connect groups include small groups, Sunday School classes, bible studies, UMW circles, Emmaus reunion groups, and even the choir!
GROW – Grow is the value that encompasses all we do to grow more fully into the likeness of Christ. Growing in our faith does not automatically occur when we say yes to Jesus. Rather, it involves deliberate effort to engage in activities that help us grow. This includes prayer, bible study, worship, giving, and acts of service.
SEND – Jesus sends his followers into their community and world to share the Good News of the Kingdom. Engaging in acts of mission and service is part of being sent into the world. These include efforts to alleviate suffering and injustice in the name of Jesus. However, being sent is more than just engaging in mission projects, mission trips, and acts of service. Being sent means living out our faith, living out the values of God's Kingdom, and looking for ways to alert others to the reign of Christ in every area of our lives: in our neighborhoods, in our workplaces, in our schools, in our families, in our communities, and beyond.
